10:00 AM 12/5 - Remember the December 5th snow streak? That ended in 2011 and after that this day hasnt been too favorable for snow anymore in Baltimore. Would you rather be having snow today? Today will be cool and damp with poor weather conditions lasting until Sunday. TODAY - Cloudy with a few light showers possible. It wont be a washout but it will be unpleasant with highs remaining fairly stead in the lower 40s. TONIGHT - Cloudy with a few scattered showers possible again. Temperatures will remain steady in the lower 40s. SATURDAY - Cool and yucky with clouds and showers likely. More rain than today is expected, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be a little warmer, reaching up into the mid 50s. SUNDAY - Sunday will be colder and much winder. We may actually have some sunshine!! However, temperatures in the lower 40s and N winds at 15-25 mph will ruin our chances of a nice day. LOOKING AHEAD - Computer models are doing some weird things next week. The storm coming through Saturday will move offshore Sunday. But some models are retrograding the low back into the coast on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday and developing a coastal storm. Other models just shove everything out to sea and bring a cold front in Tuesday. Regardless, a cold front looks likely on Tuesday, but if it comes with a storm or not is the better question. Well be keeping an eye on this. Beyond that, the weather pattern looks to turn warmer in mid-December. We are looking at coast-to-coast warmer than average weather developing with the warmest regions in the upper Mid-west - a complete pattern flip from November. The eastern US looks like the closest to average temperatures. There are no signs of this breaking in the next 2 weeks or more unless we see some forcing out of the tropics. Have a wonderful day!
