$10,000 GRANT FOR STEM SCHOLARSHIPS In 2018, it is estimated there will be 1.2 million jobs in STEM fields, but not enough graduates to fill them. The Hans & Cay Jacobsen Foundation has graciously donated $10,000 to the LSSC Foundation for the Johnson Scholars STEM Scholarship Program. This grant will help fund scholarships for students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Johnson Scholars Program partnership is unique in nature because it is a matching grant between local colleges, including LSSC and UCF, that is projected to raise $4 million in scholarships, and provides scholarship support for LSSC students as they transition to UCF, complete with mentors who guide them throughout the process and emphasize leadership development. Without the help of the Jacobsen Foundation and many other supporters, the Foundation would not be what it is today.
