Its a TV pilot for a show called The Jazz Age (episode title The Age of Rebirth) about an old jazz bassist named Doug Washington, playing with Mary Brown and Her Band of Fools, who sixty years later finds a busker named Marcus Fillmore who informs him that jazz is making a comeback. Other characters include Nehem Trawley, Marcuss Jewish-when-he-wants-to-be roommate, and his girlfriend, Other Kate, and Rose and Gil, the housekeeper and cook at the upscale retirement home where Doug and Mary are living. Its super fun! Especially Mary. I love writing her character. Youre always gonna be the same old rake. FUN FACT: This song was written by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht for their show The Threepenny Opera.
