10/18 SURF/BOAT/JETTY Water temp this nice sunny morning is 66.4. Blue fish once again on mullet, bunker chunks, metals and poppers. Few stripers here and there on clams and plugs. The ocean wasnt bad it was pretty flat but it did have a swell to it. So it was very fishable. Still no 34 inch striper weighed in for the Classic and the $500 is still up for grabs. Hell I almost feel like taking a day off and go collect that $500 for myself. I would take at least one heavy stick just in case but with this west wind you may not need it even though there is going to be a swell. Lets get to those ever important area reports: Brigantine: blues LBI: blues, few stripers, few kingfish south end Barnegat Light rocks: blues, stripers, tog IBSP: blues, few stripers Seaside: blues, few stripers Pt. Pleasant Wall: blues , tog off the rocks Pt. Pleasant: blues , few stripers, tog in canal Manasquan River: few stripers Monmouth Beaches: blues, few stripers Jetties: blues, few stripers SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt becoming W 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt late this morning and afternoon. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Mainly in SE swell with a dominant period of 15 seconds. Some did get out yesterday and trolled bunker spoons off of IBSP bathing beaches and did catch a few nice stripers. Also some party boats sailed and got into those jumbo bluefish when jigging A47 and A67 AVAs. No word on bottom fishing but I would bet we will get some reports today as sea bass season is now open again with a 12.5 inch 15 fish limit. Also dont forget cod, ling, and even winter flounder.
