10/23/14 From UUSC So far, more than 3,000 people have signed our petition to eBay to leave the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). As you may have heard, we are gaining visibility. UUSC and the Unitarian Universalist Association, as part of a coalition of more than 80 organizations, signed a public letter calling on eBay to end its membership in ALEC. Then on Friday, ALEC mentioned Unitarian Universalist opposition in a fundraising appeal to their members. ALEC wrote that professional activists ranging from Common Cause to the Unitarian Universalist Church just wont stop. They asked supporters to donate to ALEC in response to the threat that we pose! Now its time to increase the pressure on eBay to end its membership in ALEC. You’re sending the message to eBay that their participation in ALEC is unacceptable. Ask your friends and community members to sign the petition telling eBay to leave ALEC .PS. When ALEC feels threatened by Unitarian Universalists and our allies, we know we’re doing something right.
