10/25/14 update Good Morning awesome Prayer Warriors! We hope your weekend is off to a great start! Jordis stomach is feeling better today! As you can see below..her blood counts are starting to head down. Friday, 10/24: White blood cells: 4.1 Hemoglobin: 9.4 Platelets: 192 ANC: 2665 Saturday, 10/25: White blood cells: 2.5 Hemoglobin: 9.6 Platelets: 128 ANC: 750 Since Jordi is finished with her chemo meds and is just getting hydrated with saline through her IV, her day nurse let her unhook from her IV pole to get in the shower yesterday at 9 am. Jordi was super excited, so her nurse asked the doctor if she could be off of the IV for a few hours. Her doctor said as long as Jordi stayed hydrated and didnt get an infection, she could be off of her IV. She did a great job drinking fluids…mostly Carlsbad Alkaline Water…and is still pole free over 24 hours later! Our friends (the Stevens family) took Matthew to a Trunk-or-Treat Halloween party at their church in San Diego last night. They brought him back to us at the hospital and just as we were about to go downstairs to the front of the hospital to get him, Jordis night nurse gave her the okay to sneak out for a few minutes! It was just the boost she needed…she was on cloud 9!! We will just be laying low this weekend. Thank you all for your wonderful cards and goodies! Getting mail is a big highlight in Jordis day! :) Please join us in praying for Jordi to stay healthy and patient as her blood counts go down and stay down for the next couple of weeks.
