Details: Early Warning Network: ewn.au VIC Severe Weather Warning: Heavy Rain for people in the North East, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts Issued at 10:47 am EDT on Friday 24 January 2014. Weather Situation A trough over eastern Victoria will combine with a cold front moving across southern Victoria today before clearing the State during the evening. Heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms which may lead to flash flooding are forecast for the North East, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts. The Severe Weather Warning for parts of the Northern Country and North Central forecast districts has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: Keep clear of fallen power lines. Dont drive, ride or walk through flood water. Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road. For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
