10/5/14 Update on Mary Ellen Labrecque: I wasnt able to stop and visit Mel today since I have come down with this virus, so I didnt get to lay my hands or eyes on Mel. But, I CAN tell you that the dialysis is doing exactly what they wanted it to. Her kidney lab values are now completely back to normal, and they have been able to remove fluid and weight from her. This is very good news. They also are encouraged that she seems to be clearing mentally a bit with clearing the toxins from her body. She is still not where she needs to be, mentally, but she is doing better and that is very encouraging. She is still requiring some platelet replacement and blood transfusions, but she is holding her own and fighting. Please continue to pray for her delicate balance act of medications for her bood clotting disorder, for kidneys to continue to respond to the dialysis and the extra weight be removed from her, for her to develop an appetite so she can get off the feeding tube, to continue to fight rejection, and mostly for her to clear mentally and re-connect with the outside world. Thank you to everyone who keeps her in their prayers.
