10 BATSWANA LOCATED AND REPORTED SAFE FOLLOWING THE COLLAPSE OF A BUILDING AT THE SYNAGOGUE CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to inform the public that following the collapse of a guesthouse in the compound of TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos, the Botswana High Commission in Nigeria has been working with the Nigeria Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the leadership of the Church to locate Botswana citizens. The Botswana High Commission has established that there were at least 10 Batswana in the adjacent building in the compound when the collapse occurred. All of them have been accounted for and have since returned home. The High Commission will continue to work with the Nigerian authorities to monitor the situation. The church collapsed on the, 12th September 2014, claiming at least 84 lives and leaving others missing, according to the latest reports. In this moment of tragedy, the Government and people of the Republic of Botswana wish to convey our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones and wish that all those reported missing are quickly found.
