10 July The performing art of Mintcho Mintchev has been highly acclaimed on four continents. Since 1990 he has been a professor at Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany. He has performed as soloist with RPO, LSO, BBC, London Mozart Players, St. Martin in the Fields, St. Goldsmith Orchestra, etc. He has appeared on the stage of Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Bolshoy Theater and Tchaikovsky Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Herkules Saal. He has played under the baton of conductors such as Sir Ch. Groves, Sir N. Mariner, Sir Al. Gibson, Sir J. E. Gardiner. M. Mintchev has recorded for DECCA, Balkanton, Capriccio, Integral, WDR, Radio Sofia, etc. In 1993 he was awarded the Musician of the Year Prize by the Bulgarian National Radio and award for significant contribution to Bulgarian culture in 2010. Since 1993 he has been a Chairman of P. Vladiguerov Foundation and chaired the violin jury at P. Vladiguerov International Piano and Violin Competition. He leads violin master classes in Arkutino with the support of St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation. Art Director of the Varna Summer International Summer Academy.
