Hes managed Bayern Munich to a Champions League final and been the boss at Barca... twice. 3) Similar to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, Van Gaal never really set the world alight as a player. Van Gaal spent most of his career at Sparta Rotterdam where he racked up 248 appearances. 4) Current boss Ryan Giggs has credited his longevity down to a spot of yoga, its not quite the same, but Van Gaal is a qualified gymnastic teacher. No doubt Ashley Young will be taking extra lessons to improve his forward roll. 5) The mans got balls. Just ask the Bayerns players. Once the 62-year-old proved he had the bollocks to drop star names by revealing his own two veg to stars such as Arjen Robben, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Philipp Lahm. 6) Hes a European specialist. United might not be in Europe next season, but when they get there they should do well. Hes won the Dutch, Spanish AND German top flight titles. So, whoever wins it this year, be it Man City, Chelsea or Liverpool, prepare for a challenge next season. 9) Hes best buds with United striker Robin van Persie. Theyve been spotted sitting next to each other at various games over the last few weeks. A happy RVP means a free- scoring United. 10) LVGs birthday is August 8. That makes him a Leo and going by todays star signs in the Daily Star, the Dutchman should push ahead with his interest in the role at Old Trafford.
