10 Things Every Christian Can Learn From Ruth!!! Ruth is one of the significant, constantly referred to personalities in the Bible whom Christians can emulate on many an occasion. Ruth is a Moabite woman by birth but later gets married to an Israelite with whom she lives in Moab. After the demise of their husbands, Ruth and Orpah are left with the freedom of making their own choices thenceforth. It is from these choices that Christians extract life giving lessons. 1. LOVE Ruth expressed Love to her mother in law by constantly working in the fields in order to earn a decent living for Naomi and her. She loves Naomi, her mother in law as she loves herself. 2. COMPASSION Ruth was compassionate about Naomi as she did not let her mother in law who had lost both her sons and husband, carry her own cross back to Israel but chose to share in her pain. A difficult choice to make though later paid back. 3. HUMILITY She expressed the virtue of humility when she met Boaz and got employed alongside other women in the farm. With great humility she toiled thereby letting Boaz to spot her among many in the field. 4. COMMITMENT Great commitment in inheritance was seen in Ruth. She was committed as a wife to her late husband, committed to Naomi and also as a labourer in the plantation. 5. PATIENCE When Ruth met Boaz, she did not haste into marrying him immediately but instead took the time to know him purposefully much better. 6. FAITH Christians learn about Faith from Ruth’s difficult choices. She knew God would provide everything and indeed God provided her with a new life in Israel. 7. OBEDIENCE Ruth constantly obeyed Naomi’s advices on critical issues especially pertaining Boaz as a suitor and a husband. 8. ELEMENT OF POSITIVE CHANGE Christians learn to be able to dump their old lifestyles to rightly fit into the Godly lifestyle just as Ruth did when she dumped Pagan life for Yahweh. 9. GOOD CHARACTER The fact that Ruth was a beautiful woman cannot be out looked. But this was not enough for Boaz to spot her. Her good character displayed in the fields played a great role in God providing her a husband. 10. TRUST In God did Ruth invest her trust. She believed God would not pass her by as He blessed His people. True to this, God blessed her with a son, Obed and a wealthy husband Boaz.
