10 Things you realise on a road trip with the family (after months of travelling solo as a travel photographer) : 1. Your camera bag is stuffed in the car boot because it is a family trip and you have to be mentally present. 2. Every time you look outside the window, you see an award-winning candid-shot frame and inwardly cringe, die, repeat the frame in your head till you see the next award-winning one. 3. Your dads phone is FLAWLESS with battery (and no its not a Nokia, but an android) 4. His collection of songs aint that bad either! (Coz many of the playlists were created by you, before you handed down the phone and he never deleted) 5. Google Maps will be abused, criticised, discarded by your father because in his words I have driven through each inch of this region before Google was even born. 6. You can actually hold a conversation with your lil sister when the 3G of her phone doesnt function. 7. She knows quite as much as you about world politics and international relations. You are in severe shock. 8. Your dad is very eager to to escort you to the toilet at a midway roadside stop and when you firmly say NO (citing you always travel ALONE to the remotest or places) he agrees; and sends your sister to check up on you. 9. Your mom always has the most innovative excuses to get you to eat something, Do you want to eat Britannia cakes? You might not get them in Paris. (Coz Paris is a city on Mars) 10. Your moms shoulder is the most comfortable spot to fall asleep; a luxury you cant afford when travelling solo.
