10 Weeks Until State Convention “No free government, or the blessing of liberty can be preserved to any people, but by frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.” - George Mason, Virginia (a founding father) What George Mason meant was that a government formed upon principles to serve the public good, in order to succeed, each generation must participate in its endeavor and be reminded of the principles upon which it is based. Citizen participation is essential to its success. We now have less than 10 weeks until the NDGOP State Convention! This is a key opportunity for you to participate in our government, and have an impact on the future of our state and nation. From April 4-6, delegates from across North Dakota will gather in Minot to celebrate North Dakota’s success, as well as make some important decisions. We will endorse statewide candidates, update our party’s platform and refine our message for the upcoming election. In addition, your involvement in the 2014 State Convention will be credited towards being a delegate to the 2016 National Convention. Statewide candidates who will be joining us and seeking our endorsement include: Kevin Cramer, U.S. Congress Wayne Stenehjem, Attorney General Al Jaeger, Secretary of State Doug Goehring, Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger, Tax Commissioner Brian Kalk, Public Service Commissioner Julie Fedorchak, Public Service Comissioner Your ongoing involvement is critical in shaping the future of our party, our state, and our nation – get involved today.
