10 random Tuesday thoughts (dedicated to Heather Tenopir-Mcgilchrist and Lora Gilliland Schneider): 1. Leave people (and places and everything else) better than you found them. Author aforementioned Lora with ad libs from me 2. Many outfits that are in your closet and drawers should never be worn outside of your home. Case in point my gray holey (not to be mistaken with holy) sweats that I own that Alan would suffer greatly if they happen to disappear. 3. Take care of the earth. We only have one. 4. Find a passion. It may be something you never thought you could do or accomplish (for me it was running). That said, do not make fun of someone elses passion. If you try something, and it is not your cup of tea then find something else. 5. Once you become you a parent, you understand empathy and worry very differently than ever before. If you are someones kid (and of course you are) phone your parent and thank them for worrying.... 6. Although Quiktrip convenience are great people watching places, the parking lots are the most dangerous driving experiences in the metro area. I prefer rush hour traffic in Los Angeles (well maybe not, but you get my drift). People drive 0-65 mph in a 75 ft area. 7. I think Im drinking too much coffee. The other morning at 4:30 am I woke up dreaming that I was in a seedy convenience store, and they were out of coffee and International Delight creamer. Since I use my Keurig and skin milk, I was a little perplexed. 8. Download Florida Georgia Lines sing Dirt on iTunes if you havent already! Shout out to my buddy Dan Weller! Another great song! It will make you think. 9. I miss the simple summers of childhood. Drinking out if the hose (lukewarm at first), laundry on the line and the smell of fresh sheets, sleeping in front of the fan at my grandparents, listening to the comforting sound of an oil dyke pumping in the background, eating veggies straight out of the garden without fearing dying from the dirt.... 10. Get a library card if you do not have one. Im sure you pay taxes, so use it. E-readers and iPads just are not the same as the real thing. (Anyone else miss the little pocket things in the back of the book?)
