10 weeks ago we rescued Perdita and her puppies. The day I picked them up, Perdita was borderline feral, terrified of everyone and everything and doing her best to escape from anywhere I put her. She travelled from the shelter to my home in a crate and nearly bit the shelter staff person who pulled her out of her run. I couldnt touch her, she ran from me, and was terrified of collars and leashes. She didnt know how to play, and growled at every human and animal she saw. At one year old, I suspect she has suffered abuse and neglect beyond my imagination. Shes still got a ways to go, but in a week where we are giving thanks, Im thankful that this beautiful girl has decided to take a chance on trusting me.
