Mohammed Bouyeri, a Dutch-Moroccan shot Van Gogh 8 times as he was cycling to work. As Van Gogh lay on the ground pleading for his life, he shot him several more times. Then he cut his throat and attempted to behead him, then stabbed him in the chest. He attached a note to his body with a second knife.
