10 years ago today was the happiest day of my life. It was the day Jadyn Nicole Brown was born. Wow.... my girl is 10 years old. Or as she keeps saying, Double digits!. I remember the day she was born as if it was yesterday. It was a cold morning. Snow and ice on the ground and the streets. I remember hearing Jadyn cry for the first time. I remember the first time I held her. And I remember almost passing out while I was holding her. (Jadyns mother loves telling that story :) I remember practically running out to the waiting area to tell everybody Jadyn was born and how beautiful she was. And I remember hugging my parents, my brother in law and my sister and just crying. Crying just like I am as it type this. Right now, its tears joy mixed with a bit of sadness. Sadness because as a parent I feel like I have failed my daughter in so many ways. Ways that she isnt really aware of at 10 years old. But overall, Im crying because I am happy. Happy to experience the joy of being the father to a beautiful girl. Happy to still have a chance to make so much up to her. And happy to hear her voice say Daddy. Even when its been followed by can we go look for new Barbies or can I please get another hamster. I love my, Poops!
