**** $100,000 Reward in Rowan student’s ’07 murder **** Despite a still-offered $100,000 reward, billboard ads bringing it to the public’s attention and even a Rowan University class project about the campus tragedy, the investigation into the 10/27/07 fatal attack on 19-year-old Rowan sophomore Donald Farrell III continues without a suspect in custody. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the Rowan University Police Department and the Glassboro Police Department continue to look for leads in the Homecoming Weekend assault on Farrell near Rowan’s Triad Apartment building. Witnesses described four or five black males who approached the student from Morris County NJ asking for directions to a party. In what investigators believe was a random act, Farrell was punched and kicked in the head and neck by one or two of the males. The assailants fled with his wallet. Farrrell died the next day from a ruptured artery in the neck. One of the group of muggers wore a distinctive Coogie hoodie that was identified on security camera video from a nearby convenience store. It is also believed that the hoodie wearer used a nickname, “Smoke.” A video of the suspect can be viewed at youtu.be/-HmAO6WfdmE or by using any of the following keywords: Rowan, murder, suspect, reward, and news. Anyone with information about participants in the attack that caused the death of Donald Farrell III is asked to phone the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office at (856) 384-5604, the Rowan University Police Department at (856) 256-4564 or leave an anonymous tip by texting GLOTIP & your message and CRIMES (274637).
