100 Forbidden Worlds in partnership with Festival of Ideas Rusholme and the University of Manchester Beat Studies Network present a 2 day weekend event at the International Antony Burghess Foundation, Manchester. Saturday 13th December (6-10.30 pm) Join us for an evening of spoken word, poetry, live experimental music and audio visual cut up performances to celebrate William Burroughs’ 100th year, featuring 5 live performances from CP. Lee, Michael Horovitz and Vanessa Vie, Lauren Bolger and David McLean, Ruaridh Law (TVO /Broken20 audio/visual label) and Soft Machines featuring 2 Koi Karp. Sunday 14th December (12midday - 6.00 pm) Join us for a day of William Burroughs inspired talks, discussions and presentations to celebrate William Burroughs’ 100th anniversary. This day event features special guest speakers recognised internationally for their work and connection to Burroughs creative legacy in terms of his artmaking, films, photography, poetry, literature, live performance and music making. Our special guests on the day are: Oliver Harris, Michael Horovitz, Andrew Biswell, John Sears, Patricia Allmer, Ken Hollings and Dik Jarmen.
