100 Years of Doubting Your Doubts (DYD) 6 months after Uchtdorfs call have you noticed any difference in ... (a) a decline in LDS resignations ? (b) greater acceptance of the ostracised doubters and dissidents ? (c) any other change ? From BH Roberts in 1912 to Dieter Uchtdorf in 2013 Doubting Your Doubts (DYD) may have been practiced by LDS church Leaders. Now in October 2013 the call has been issued to all church members. Today 6 months later can we say it has made a noticeable difference at the grass roots level ? Please share your opinion / experience. xmormon.net/ ----- read on if you want to know more about me ------ In 2012 we have reached 100 Years of doubting your doubts, starting with BH Roberts findings in 1912. For me it was my 40th anniversary as an LDS member (lapsed in 1995). I always had doubts since the day of my baptism into the Mormon Church. How do I feel nowadays about Joseph Smith is well described in the Wizard of Oz at https://youtube/watch?v=NZR64EF3OpA (110 secs) Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. This video made me laugh as it reveals a profound hidden truth. Joseph Smith and the Mormon Dilemma are explained in just 110 seconds. While the Mormon curtain gently lifts Joseph Smith is still revered as a good man, just a bad wizard. And the LDS Top 15 leaders keep papering over the cracks and are building more and more monuments to him. A bit of laughter alleviates the pain of having been deceived to secure my salvation and baptism in 1972. The missionaries, bless their heart where beautiful and caring people with a glow in their eyes. One of them a beautiful and very pretty virgin girl from Austria was serving her mission in my home town in Germany. My Mum had invited her into our home to help me celebrate my 21st birthday (and help convert me). Of course Marie Therese could not tell me that her leaders knew at least since 1970 that the Book of Abraham was a myth and Josephs claim that he could translate Egyptian Papyri by the power of God is proven false beyond reasonable doubt. Consequently Nauvoo Temple rituals may have been inspired by an Egyptian fertility cult while being attributed to Jesus Christ. What on earth was Joseph thinking when he looked at the facsimiles with phallic Gods and tried to match them with a celibate Jesus Christ ?
