10pm update: Light to moderate rain continues to overspread the region. Storms that are moving out of Texas toward the Arkansas/Louisiana line continue to weaken as they move into more stable air. We continue to monitor trends for the potential for severe storms. The main time for this continues to be after midnight, and possibly closer to 3-4am. We are awaiting better dewpoints (moisture in the air) to surge northward. The best dewpoints remain across southern Mississippi and near coastal Louisiana. If they cant make it further north, then we will just see moderate rain and the severe threat will decrease. However, if dewpoints can get to 60 degrees or higher, we could still see severe potential. As the rain continues to move over the region, there will be potential for flash flooding as rainfall amounts stack up.
