10th may - this time last year I used my motherly instinct for the 1st time & took my boy to our GP as his eyes were all yellow instead of white & I was concerned there was something wrong with his sight....we got a referral to the hospital for blood tests & upon arrival Isaac was instantly admitted to the liver unit where I was told he would need to undergo major surgery for suspected biliary atresia - this was possibly the 2nd scariest day of my life, his surgery/op day being the scariest - luckily things turned out to be a little bit better for my little guy when Drs operated n were able to rule biliary atresia out but diagnosed him with alpha 1 anti-trypsin instead. Im sooooo proud of how far he has come & cannot believe its been a year - although he will never be cured of his condition & there is always the risk of a transplant being needed hes such a brave little soldier & he just gets on with it - we are always to & from the doctors & the hospital etc but he always has a smile for everyone & I couldnt be happier to say thats my boy! XxX
