11 - Elizabeth Barrett Browning was one of the most prominent English poets of the Victorian era. Before her marriage to the writer Robert Browning (preceded by one of the most famous courtships in literature) she lived in a house on the site of 50 Wimpole Street, W1. This (Royal) Society of Arts plaque, high on the facade, commemorates this.
