11/02/13: IM AN ULTRA-MARATHONER (COMPLETED 31.0686 MILES)! I wasnt going to do ULTRA anything. My heart was not into doing a 50-Miler so I dropped it on 9/29/13 - it wasnt for ME and that makes a huge difference in motivation & follow-through for a distance of that magnitude - especially when TIME & SACRIFICE become factors. NOTE: I was only planning to do it to support a friend ( Kim Fitmiss). My goal was to run with her to fulfill a 2011 commitment WE BOTH MADE TO EACH OTHER which was to do here 1st 50K together. The Run Burn Shrink Framework for Improved Running WORKS. For this year 11/2013, the goal was to shrink Kimmies April 2013 50-Mile time from 15 hours to less than 11 hours for November of 2013 & the mission was accomplished. This year, she even shrunk her Marathon Personal Record (PR) by more than 1 hour of time and there is more to come... * In 2011, we were supposed to do a 50K together but she couldnt - baby was on board. * In 2012, we were supposed to do the 50K together but I couldnt due shoulder surgery. * In 2013, I fulfilled the 50K commitment. AGAIN, I WASNT GOING TO DO A ULTRA ANYTHING! Later, I thought about it, I trained through 9/29/13 for 50 Miles and the taper started 2 weeks later on 10/12/13, so even with no running or training from that point I figured I can still complete 31 miles and I did. Plus, I never like to was money so I had to do something since I had paid for the event. A week before the event, I had a golf-ball sized contraction that wouldnt release and today (after the ultra, its the size of a pea). I could have given up but I didnt. I could have avoided starting but I didnt I started with discomfort and finished in discomfort while staying injury free! There is a huge difference with having a condition and being injured. A condition is a limitation that cannot be avoided but an injury is something that can be avoided. Im thankful for this moment. Im not suppose to be physical able to do any running. I was born a cramp and always have muscle spasms. Nutrients doesnt matter... I can happen while fully hydrated so that doesnt matter. Im just thankful to God for the ability to look beyond my physical limits to achieve!
