11/17/14 Hi, Lenee-- Greetings and Congratulations! Your writing has been accepted into the Washington State Department of Commerce’s “Reverse Ekphractic” art show by the Commerce Art Committee! Your writing will be printed out and posted at the Department of Commerce, corner of Union and Plum, Olympia, for the month of December. Your name and title of your work will be posted alongside your work. Any inquiries about your work will be forwarded to you via e-mail. The Open House will be held Thursday, December 11th, in the foyer at the Department of Commerce, corner of Union and Plum in Olympia (in the building closest to the corner). If you indicated you wanted to read your work, please arrive no later than 11:45 and check in so we can assign you an order in the program. Your time limit for reading is five minutes, so you will need to pick from among those pieces you sent us so you won’t exceed the five minutes for the reading. (We will, however, put all of your writing on display at Commerce.) We will start promptly at noon and end at 1:30. Visual artists will be on hand to create on-the-spot visual responses to the readings. The show can be viewed during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5pm). Please call 360-725-4000 and ask to speak with an Art Committee employee to arrange a viewing time, as you must be accompanied by an employee.
