11.20pm and the Colombo Declaration has been finalised. All delegates have come to a general consensus. All terms that were contentious for certain delegates have been replaced with the word gender. A necessary compromise given that there were certain countries who were not willing to move on the issue and that we had been negotiating for 3 days (since 10.00am this morning) and needed to come to an agreement in order to produce the Colombo declaration by tomorrow. In the spirit of cooperation we had to make sacrifices and compromises. The goal is not to score points just at this forum, but the goal of the entire process is to take this document that we have prepared to the general assembly of the UN and beyond, with the clear objective of improving the lives of the worlds youth!! Oh boy glad #TeamPacific were able to get in all our operating paragraphs pertaining to education, youth rights Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and most of all CLIMATE CHANGE!!!! Time to ching ching lol
