11.21.13_Daily Devotion “The Joy of Our Eternal Security!” John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Fathers hand.” By Dr. M.H. Salahshurian, Ph. D How sad to know, there are many, many true believers walking upon the face of this earth thinking, if they do not do enough, or if they committed some kind sin/s, someday, they might lose their salvation! The answer to this GREAT dilemma is given to us in the above text, John 10:27-29. Our Great Assurance resides in Vs. 28-29, Whom both the Son; the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father given us the promise that “...No man shall pluck us out of the Sons hand (V-28), or the Fathers hand (v-29)!” I would say, this is a Double-Security! And, that includes ourselves! For, after we truly come to Christ, He will seal us with His Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30; 2 Corinthians 1:22)! The Apostle Paul gives us this assurance in Romans 8:35-39. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Obviously, because we are still living in this fallen world, according to (Romans 8:22-23)! And, our old nature still residing within us (Galatians 5:16-17), we do commit sins, but the Apostle John in 1 John 1:7-9 gives us the assurance of the cleansing and the forgiveness from all sin! “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Here Are Few Things God Does With Our Sins After We Receive Christ! 1- He Removes Our Sins As Far As the East is from the West! “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12 2- He Casts Our Sins Behind His Back! “Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.” Isaiah 38:17 3- He Casts Our Sins Into the Depth of the Sea!
