11-26/27 NorEaster :: A noreaster will affect the region from late Tuesday November 26th through Wednesday, November 27th. Based on the latest information, the most vulnerable time for the mid-Atlantic region will be starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing into daytime Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is expected with rainfall amounts up to three inches possible. Roadway and poor drainage flooding is likely. There is a risk that some of the quicker responding streams and rivers may approach flood stage. There is a threat of icing (freezing rain) from this storm. Amounts would likely be a tenth of an inch or less, and most likely in the Poconos and far northern New Jersey. Slippery road conditions are very likely with freezing rain. Some snow is possible with this storm, especially in the higher elevations of eastern Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey, but that threat has diminished. Snowfall totals are expected to be under 4 inches. Coastal flooding is still a threat with this storm, but the threat of moderate coastal flooding has diminished. Minor coastal flooding is still possible. The high tides to watch are the ones on Wednesday. The timing of this storm will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel. Travel conditions will deteriorate Tuesday night as strong onshore winds and rain move into the region. These conditions will persist into daytime Wednesday, improving later Wednesday night.
