11 Weeks to Worlds!!!! Heres something to include in your weekly training schedules.......... One of the major reasons for injuries, poor posture, over rotation of the hips, poor jump takeoff & height & the collapsing of hips upon landing that we see regularly comes from the weakness of a dancers lower back and their lack of ability to create a full hip extension at the beginning of the movements, It is also one cause of multiple hamstring hip and knee injuries! RULE NO1 Acceleration is set by the speed of the first five metres. as dancers we do not have a long time to build up acceleration and speed, full power must be achieved over a few metres. Who has the best 5 metre acceleration time? Sprinters..... Why? Because they have unbelievable lower back strength...... In my experience short term speed improvement of Irish Dancers is a direct function of how much you improve your lower back strength! If your looking to add height to your jumps and stay injury free include the following movement in your weekly training routine to improve your posterior chain strength and develop real Speed, Power & Height!!!! This is the type of training you will get from me & my team @ lauren Early Irish Dance Register for your free information pack on lauren@laurenearlyirishdance! 11 weeks to go......GET INVOLVED!!!!
