1130am Weather Update: VERY active weather in the forecast for the next couple of days. Large, slow moving storm crawling our way. Plenty of moisture and instability in our atmosphere and we have the risk of flash flooding and severe weather in the forecast. Image 1 is the latest graphic from the NWS Morristown showing the threat for severe weather and heavy rain this evening/tonight. Our biggest window of opportunity would be after 5pm until midnight for severe but the risk of storms will last overnight and another round of heavy rain and severe storms expected on Tuesday. Ingredients are in place for us to see widespread damaging winds with any severe storm later today and the risk of an isolated tornado. Image 2 shows the projected rain totals through mid week from this slow moving system. Some areas may pick up over 6 of rain. As storms break out, I will have updates on the air and on Facebook. Stay safe! Have your emergency plan in place on the safest place to go in your home or business to protect yourself from isolated tornadoes and damaging winds. Do not try to drive on flooded roads. The depth of the water is deceiving and is even more difficult to determine at night. - Jennifer
