1132 PM CST Patchy dense freezing fog has developed across portions of northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Low lying areas and areas adjacent to lakes, rivers, and creeks are most likely to be affected. Visibility of a quarter mile or less is possible in these areas. Ice may develop on roadways within the fog making for very slippery conditions. Motorists should be prepared for rapid changes in visibility and a quick transition from dry road surfaces to icy road surfaces in foggy areas. Visibility may improve later tonight as cloud cover increases.
