Until she placed the softest of kisses on his forehead... And told him that she loved him. So so much. Only then did the tears fall. Once they did he couldnt stop them. They rushed down his face, sobs tearing from his chest without his control. The fear in his eyes... He was scared. He was falling apart and the only thing that was holding him together was her arms around him. For two hours she held him while he cried. Great, wracking sobs that gradually reduced to quiet whimpers and finally silent tears. For two hours she held him, stroked his hair and rocked him back and forth until his cries subsided. When he was finally done, she kissed the tears from his face and gently brushed his hair away from his forehead. Tracing the dark circles underneath his eyes, she told him she loved him. God, how she loved him. And that he was okay. That she was here now. And that shed fix everything. He rested his head on her shoulder and tightened his grip around her waist. For the next hour, they stayed like that. Her fingers tracing his bruised knuckles, whispering words of comfort in his ears. Its okay... Everything will be okay... I love you... I love you so much...
