11th national conference on mine safety The Government is committed to security, safety and welfare of mine workers. Inaugurating the 11th national conference on mine safety in New Delhi, Minister for Labour and Employment Sis Ram Ola emphasized the need for proper trainning, adequate security and health facility to miners to avoid dangers in the mining area.The Minister also said that more productivity with safety and more employment in the sector is the need of the hour. On the occasion, he launched a campaign on security in mines. The 2-day conference is being attended by Trade Union representatives, mine owners and other stakeholders. It will identify thrust areas for improvement of safety standards in mines. The conference will also review the status of safety in mining and adequacy of existing measures in improving the working conditions of miners
