12.11.2014 Daily Devotion Obtaining His Precious Promises through Obedience to His Word! Part II Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:4 By Dr. M.H. Salahshurian, Ph. D According to one reliable source, there are 3,573 promises of God in the Bible, and the prayer is the path (avenue), that takes the believer from his problem to Gods Promises! Prayer takes us from doubt to discovery, from fear to faith, from despair to hope, and from discouragement to encouragement. This is true, only if we knew where to found them and how to obtained them through obedience to His Word! It is by proper praying of Gods promises which brings victory, life, peace, and joy in every area of our lives. Again, knowing where to find those 3,573 promises of God in His Word, knowing them and obeying by faith will bring us peace, protection, prosperity, healing, guidance, happiness, deliverance, and delight to name a few! According to Hebrews 11:6, obedience by faith in His Word, is the key to obtaining His Promises! But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 In my last Daily Devotion, in regard to obtaining Gods Precious Promises I finished by saying, to obtain His Promises we MUST put God first (Matthew 6:33). When we do: I- We Have the Full Assurance of Having His Protection According to: Jeremiah 29:12-14 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. II- We have the Full Assurance that He Hears Us according to: 2 Samuel 22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.” Job 34:28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted. Psalm 28:8 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. III- We have the Full Assurance that He Heals Us according to: 2 Kings 20:5 ...Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. IV- We have the Full Assurance that He Will Deliver Us according to: Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. Psalm 50:14-15 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
