12/21/2014 “And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Mark 5:19 While testifying is highly personal, sharing your story is very much needed for advancing the Kingdom. Testifying has two important purposes. First, it allows others to see a real-life, authentic and tangible example of the Lord’s capability, concern, and compassion towards us, and it can be a powerful form of persuasion. Think about it. Most often, the people who have the most power to persuade us are those who are closest to us and those in which we trust. Do you know what that means? That means that your testimony could be what it takes to bring your friend to Christ. Secondly, telling your testimony also allows you to be reminded of the things that God has done for you. Too often, when God moves in our favor, we will have our moment of private gratitude with Him, tell a few folks, and then we are back to life as normal. As God is always showing His mercy towards us, and blessing us with things that we don’t rightfully deserve, we should never find ourselves void of a testimony.
