12-25-14 Post #3 ***Faith Builders “Fourth Annual Christmas in Milwaukee”*** Praise God for the unbelievable favor that we were given during the last two months putting this event together. From all the new people who came out to help us wrap each week to the news media coverage which resulted in people showing up to serve from seeing us on the news segments. The media coverage opened the door for Faith Builders to bless not only the Clarke Square and Walker’s Point Neighborhoods, but the entire City of Milwaukee! I want to thank so many people! Each one of our leaders from the Faith Builders Community Teams, all the people who volunteered their time for the last two months. All the people who were at our church for the last month every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday wrapping all our gifts we gave away. Also to Debra Nunez for organizing all the families we adopted at our church and in the City of Milwaukee. With God’s favor He added that we not only would be able to bless our members of our church, and the area where we minister to each week, but He expanded our tent pegs and gave us the entire City of Milwaukee! We were getting about 20 phones a day and about 10 emails of people who were in need of our help for this Christmas. We were even being referred people from the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Toy for Tots, for people in need! It was so amazing to be able to help so many people. I need to give a special thank you to Natasha Stiff for helping organize the four trucks with all the gifts and the teams that delivered the gifts to the homes. Also to Faith Builders Assistant Director James Haley! He is such a blessing to Faith Builders Church and the City of Milwaukee. My heart goes out to all who helped. Each of them had a significant role in making this happen. We all worked together as “One in Christ”, to show His love to over 2,000 families! We worked with so many people and different organizations! There were over 25 different ones, including our grant from the Zilber Family Foundation! The day of the event we had over 300 volunteers come to help us! We also had several hundred people come from the City of Milwaukee just to get Christmas gifts for their families. Here is the breakdown from the Faith Builders Fourth Annual Christmas in Milwaukee! We adopted 10 families from the Longfellow School and Kagel Milwaukee Public Schools. The schools sent out information from families that were in need and from those schools 10 families were chosen. The families wrote down a wish list from their children on what they wanted for Christmas and purchased toys from that wish list for them. We also supplied Christmas meals for 5 of those families. We partnered with the Rooted Society & Nathan White Ministries and they are going to deliver Christmas meals to 6 families with a total of 40 people this afternoon (12-25-14). We gave over 11,500 presents to the families throughout the City of Milwaukee and specifically in two communities, Clarke Square and Walker’s Point. We personally delivered presents to over 2,000 homes in those two neighborhoods. We helped several local churches with their own church members giving them gifts, with one church we gave over 300 Christmas gifts so they could bless their members. We also helped over 65 families in our church Faith Builders with presents for a blessed Christmas! Thank you all for helping make this event happen! We were able to show people why we celebrate this season, our Savor being born, Jesus! We were able to show the City of Milwaukee and over 2,000 families His love by our actions!
