12 ANCESTORS IN 12 MONTHS In 2014, Amy Crow challenged the followers of her genealogy blog No Story Too Small to post one article about an ancestor each week throughout the year. Needlesstosay, the idea was a great success The 2015 version of 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks is well underway. Were going to try a spin-off of Amys idea -- a 12 Ancestors in 12 Months Challenge! (They say emulation is the best form of flattery..) January is almost over, so we need to get going! 12 Ancestors in 12 Months: The challenge is to post once each month about a specific ancestor. Amys approach has been It could be a story, a biography, a photograph, an outline of a research problem — anything that focuses on one ancestor. Wed like you to try 12 Ancestors in 12 Months. We think it will be fun and hopefully will generate some connections for you. Post something here in the group once a month, post it in other family interest groups, blog it, email it to your family members. Well offer optional prompts to help you decide who to write about. You may post whatever family history you like, however, if you are looking for ideas here are a few prompts to get January started: January Prompts Roll Call - Your surnames and the regions they came from. Earliest Ancestor - Profile your earliest ancestor...perhaps include how you discovered him or her. Wordless Post - Post an image of an ancestor... be sure to include source of image (date, location, owner, etc) We will do a recap of each months articles and archive them. And with your permission wed like to repost your piece in the Ancestry Groups blog that will be launched soon.
