12 Reasons Jesus Came to Earth The Bible alone tells us why Jesus came and spiritual nature of His mission. So, what difference is this reality making in my life? 1. He Came to Save Sinners: The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost (1 Tim. 1:15). 2. To Show Mankind Gods Ultimate Grace and Truth: The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth (Jn. 1:14). 3. To Seek and to Save the Lost. The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). 4. To Give Life More Abundant: I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly (Jn. 10:10). 5. To Destroy the Works of the Devil (Sin and Death): Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil (1 Jn. 3:8). 6. To Preach to All Mankind How to Have Peace with God: He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near (Eph. 2:17). 7. To Call Sinners to Repentance: I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Lk 5:32). 8. To Demonstrate Gods Love: God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:6). 9. To Fulfill the Messianic Hope of the Law of Moses: Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished (Matt. 5:17-18). 10. To Do Gods Will and Not His Own: For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me (Jn 6:38). 11. To Be Our Guiding Light: I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness (Jn 12:46). 12 To Bear Witness to the Truth: You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice (Jn. 18:37).
