#12: Speak up for others, especially when they aren’t present to speak up for themselves. We have all been in a situation or at a point where we felt “uncomfortable” with what we were witnessing. We may have felt the nudge to do something and yet we held back from interfering. Maybe the situation happened in front of you for you to make a difference, for you to stand up for what you feel is right. Maybe you are the miracle the person needs at that moment. This goes for everything from a comment you overhear to a public display of abuse. Be creative in how you approach the situation. Not always do you have to physically stop what is happening. In a store, ask a question to distract the current behavior. Be the “rude, ease dropping” person that interrupts the conversation. When prompted and feel so inspired, don’t ignore this nudge. This may be the miracle needed to make a difference and change a life.
