12 days til the release of SHOW TRANS Despite my anxieties, upon returning to Syracuse, I feel more assured in my work as a writer and dare I say – oh god, do I really dare say? – my work as a reluctant activist. Other people may not quite see what Im doing. But I think, looking back, it will be coherent. And if nothing else, perhaps I validated some very lovely human beings, with loves and hates and passions just like mine. In short: You cant please everyone, so you might as well please yourself. You cant speak the truth, so you might as well speak your truth, and accept, sooner rather than later, that its going to be a very lonely ride. -from Show Trans: A Nonfiction Novel, to be released October 1st 2014
