12 hours ago, I asked you all to share the information about Grace Woods and her request for a dream room. I asked people to help be apart of something bigger than themselves. NEVER in my lifetime did I think that our goal of $5,500 would be met and surpassed within 7 hours of posting it on Facebook. Today I cried every time that I turned around and looked. At 10:19 this morning I got a text from my friends that we had $135, at 4:45 I got another text that we passed the goal. Last night was a rough night for me, I didnt sleep and was tossing and turning all night. I was worried about Graces wants. I didnt see how it would to be possible, and it broke my heart knowing that I was going to have to eventually tell her that we did our best but we came up short. I am amazed! This morning before I got the site up and running I got a message from Grace saying that maybe we could do her bathroom if we had any extra. . . . to myself I thought, Self we are going to be lucky if we get a tv. I didnt say anything! BOY WAS I WRONG! Turns out that Graces bedroom and her bathroom are going to be completed. I cant go into a lot of details about the bathroom right now because the company that called me to do the work have to go take a look at what Grace wants, and then what can be done. But let me tell you this, I am so proud to say that I am from Northwestern Minnesota. Local businesses are amazing offering their time, supplies, whatever we need, local people are good, and actually complete strangers are just as good. Right now the money being raised is going to be used for both rooms, and any extra it will go back to Grace The next question we all have is Whats Next? The truth is we are going to be meeting with the plumber to go over the bathroom details, and then Grace is going to be picking out colors, ect she wants for her bathroom. There are things that I am going to be needing from certain people. We are going to be building shelving/storage in Graces closet. So what right now what I am going to need is a couple of contractors to get a hold of me, (contractors to help with shelving) and I need to have an electrician. We are going to be changing out the light fixture in her room. After we meet, we will have a better time frame on when this room will be completed. The plan is going to complete it in 2 - 2 1/2 days. During that time we are going to need painters, painters, painters, people to put things together, hang wallpaper, organize closets, ect. We are going to ship Grace out and when she comes back we are going to have a big reveal!! Which we are all going to be apart of! So right now, hold tight and keep on sharing Side Note: I stopped and visited with Todd and Deanna tonight, we all had a good cry. They are speechless, and are amazed at this community.
