“124 Nabbed in Islandwide Loansharking Blitz” #sgpolicearrest In an islandwide anti-loansharking operation which took place from 20 to 22 January 2014, Police arrested a total of 124 suspects aged between 15 and 64. During the 61-hour operation, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the six Police land divisions conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations in Singapore, resulting in the arrests. These locations included areas such as Ang Mo Kio, Clementi, Jurong, Bendemeer, Toa Payoh and Tampines. Head of the Unlicensed Moneylending Strikeforce of CID, Superintendent of Police Aileen Yap, said, “Police will continue its clamp down on unlicensed moneylending activities. We will not hesitate to take tough action against like-minded individuals who assist loansharks in any way”. Please refer to the link below for more details:
