125th Anniversary of the opening of the Skipton-Ilkley Line 125th Anniversary Weekend Weekend Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th October 2013 Celebrating 125 years of operations on the line. Details are coming together for the event which celebrates the opening of the line in 1888 under the Midland Railway to its present existance as the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, with LMS and BR ownership in between as well as its closure under Beeching in 1965. Depending on negotiations, 4 or 5 steam locos will be in service with 4 or 5 different trains over the course of the weekend. Trains will run approximately every 30 minutes from both stations, passing at Embsay and Stoneacre. Further details will appear here once they are confirmed...
