12th January, besides being the Birth Anniversary of Swami - TopicsExpress

12th January, besides being the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand was also the Birth Anniversary of RAJMATA JIJABAI, mother of VEER SHIVAJI MAHARAJ. Jijabai was born on 12 January 1598 and a daughter of Lakhojirao Jadhav in present-day Buldhana district of Maharashtra State. It is said, THERE IS A WOMAN BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL MAN. True and most often, this woman is his MOTHER. The Mother is the FIRST GURU of the child. JIJABAI was a brave and courageous mother. She was born at a time when the ISLAMIC ARMY was marching across India, the Turks, The afghans and the MUGHALS in the north and the Bahamani Sultans, the Adil Shahi and Nizam shahi in the South and as they marched, they TERRORIZED the population , just as the Boko Haramis and the ISIS and the Taliban are doing now. They brutally massacared civilians, Kidnapped and raped women, sold them as slaves , forcibly converted Hindus, Destroyed temples, broke idols. One by one, the Hindu kingdoms were defeated unable and not prepared against SUCH BRUTALITY. But the Maratha Sardar Shahji Raje gave a TOUGH FIGHT but he too was defeated and under the terms of the treaty, had to leave his kingdom and work for Sultan Adil Shah. but he left behind RANI JIJABAI at his Kingdom, she gave birth to VEER SHIVAJI. She INSTILLED the SPRIT OF HINDUTVA into him since birth, She was his FIRST GURU, she taught him his FIRST LESSONS , taught him to pick up the PEN as well as the SWORD. She had realized, Hindus are losing ,because they are DISUNITED, she taught INCLUSIVE politics to Shivaji, she was a MOTHER to his MARATHA as well as POOR LOWER CLASS Friends. TOGETHER, THEY UNITED AND DEFEATED THE MIGHTY MUGHAL ARMY AND SET THE FOUNDATIONS OF HINDU - HINDAVI SWARAJ. This was a time when upper caste Kshatriya and Brahmin women COMMITTED SATI, a practice hardly seen before the Islamic March, because the Islamic army TARGETED THEM after their victories, hordes of Rajput Women had COMMITTED JOHAR, killed themselves in burning pyres rather than being touched by Islamic invaders. BUT, SHE DID NOT COMMIT SATI, she taught MARATHA WOMEN , MILITARY WARFARE, to FIGHT BACK THE ISLAMISTS even after their husbands died. Thus she inspired later generations of MARATHA QUEENS like RANI LAXMIBAI and RANI AHYALYABAI, who ADMINSTERED and PROTECTED their Kingdoms , even after being Widowed . SUCH WAS THE LEGACY OF RAJMATA JIJABAI , a great Queen, a great Mother. These modern women who scream and shout in TV debates and rallies have a lot to learn from her.
