12z outlook: Latest model guidance is still in very good agreement - TopicsExpress

12z outlook: Latest model guidance is still in very good agreement on the arctic front that will sweep the region during the middle part of next week. It appears that our next chance for precipitation begins early Friday morning of next week. With temps well below freezing as well as wet bulb temps it appears very possible that snow will likely fall with this system. Forecast totals are really early to determine as of now. As the day progresses the precip will start ending from west to east with time. As temps warm into the upper 30s it appears that there could be a change over to all rain or perhaps a mixed mode of snow and rain before ending. Another system looks to arrive on Monday Jan 02 with yet another possible chance for some snow as well. High temps this Saturday through Monday will range in the lower to mid 40s till Tuesdays powerful cold front arrives. This will keep temps below freezing possibly till about Thursday where highs will reach the upper 30s to lower 40s. Looking ahead, Friday will remain in the in the upper 30s till another sharp front arrives late Friday into Saturday morning where highs Saturday through Sunday will be in the lower 30s and another front again reinforces the airmass by Monday with sharply colder temps. The next outlook will be the 00z outlook later tonight.
