13 JAN 2015 - SHADOWS STORY - JANUARY 2015 CAMPAIGN Shadow is our special Christmas Miracle. He was scheduled to be put to sleep at Christmas after a time in a NSW pound, for no other reason than the pound was full. We knew that being a big, black dog, Shadow had the least chance of being saved....and so, despite being full....we decided that this boy deserved a little bit of Christmas Spirit. This darling boy is one of the sweetest, friendliest dogs that we have had come into care. He is great with other dogs, cats and kittens. He is a true gentle giant. Shadow has been living with an uncomfortable eye condition for most of his life, where his eyelids are turned slightly inwards and this lashes rub on his eyes. Poor Shadow. This can be easily corrected with a procedure called Entropian surgery, and so we will do this to make Shadow as comfortable and pain-free as possible, but the surgery is going to cost us between $800-1000 dollars.
