13. Take Time for Training Constant corrections fail to "teach" because they are criticism and as such discourage and provoke the child... The discouraged child displays interest in doing things. Alert parents recognize such attempts and encourage them. It is also wise to provide children with training in and understanding about unpleasant contingencies. Training should not be attempted when guests are present or the family is out in public... If a parent wishes a child to behave in public, he will have to train him at home. If his behavior is out of keeping with the situation, the only practical solution is to remove him quietly.
