13 years ago I had a first period conference and had driven to the bank to make a deposit. I had the radio on and heard the news. As most of you realize, a school is pretty cut off during the school day and cell phones were not so common. I brought the news back to the high school. I remember trying to find the right words to talk to my students as we watched the news that day. Those kids and I(and the rest of America) had a day of bonding together in pride for the rescue workers and in sadness for those lost and in anger that there are people out out there who would do such a horrific thing. Prayers today for the lost, the heroes, and our future!
