13 years ago, on 23rd December 2001, I received a kidney from a non-related live donor who thoughtfully spared a part of his body so that I could live. I will be forever grateful to him. Last 13 years have been worth it. I have tried to live up to my promise to him that in the remaining years of public service I would continue to help the needy and the deprived as I had done till then. As a senior civil servant in India till March 2013 I kept my promise to him. I still try to offer guidance and help to the youngsters. The large number of friends and followers on FB and twitter and the way my posts on FB are followed and published including in newspapers gives me satisfaction that I have tries to do justice to my second life. I cannot but remember my Nephrologist who has been looking after me for the past 16 years and the support I have received from my wife- we are married for 41 years now- and my children all these years. I do not know what future holds for me but for now I am enjoying myself. DONATE YOUR ORGANS AND GIVE A SECOND CHANCE TO LIVE TO OTHERS.
